CTIA is a research center hosted by the International Graduate School of Leadership (IGSL) in Manila. We operate in partnership with the Asia Graduate School of Theology (AGST) ThM/PhD in Theological Studies and the Asia Theological Association (ATA). As an ATA-affiliate research center, we seek to advance the mission of ATA and highlight the growing contributions of ATA scholars and publications.
Over 300 million Christians live in Asia, and thousands of new believers are added to this number daily. Yet very few theological resources are designed to meet the needs of these hundreds of millions.
Recognizing that Asia’s cultural, social, and religious environments create distinctive challenges and opportunities for understanding and living out the good news of Jesus, CTIA aims to catalyze and support the creation of resources designed to nourish this vibrant discipleship movement.
CTIA believes that the collaborative efforts of scholars and practitioners are necessary to foster theological research that is deep yet practical, rich yet accessible, comprehensive yet holistic. Thus, it seeks to establish a community of scholars and practitioners who support and strengthen the growing Asian church through sustained reflection on Scripture and through engagement with culture, history, and tradition.
Although CTIA primarily serves the church in Asia, we acknowledge the critical contributions that the Asian church can make to the global body of Christ. God’s design has always been to create a community from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation; only such a community can grasp the full depth of the gospel, because the church in every context has theological blind spots as well as unique insights into the good news. So at CTIA, we build resources for the church in Asia, but we also hope to speak from the church in Asia to the wider household of God.
Our Team
At CTIA, our goal is to be a ministry of excellence and integrity. We believe that credibility comes from using all our resources responsibly, as stewards of God’s gifts. We strive to maintain the highest standards of integrity in all aspects of work and life, knowing that this is crucial for building trust and fulfilling our mission.
